Sludge History

Once known as Korowai Kuru, the band re-emerged in 2012 under the name Lower Parts of Human Sludge, fully embracing a darker, heavier direction rooted in brutal death metal and slam. With a renewed lineup and a refined vision, LPOHS began shaping a sound built on dissonant riffs, animalistic gutturals, and a raw primitive atmosphere inspired by the violent, tribal, and ritualistic aspects of human nature.

In 2013, we released our debut record, Violently Awaken Rudiment Creation, marking the band’s first official stride into the extreme underground. After years of writing, shaping the aesthetic, and evolving sonically, LPOHS returned with the 2025 EP Awyu-Dumut,  a conceptual release exploring the world, rituals, and mythos of the Korowai people of Papua New Guinea, the tribe that originally inspired our earliest work.

On stage, LPOHS is known for delivering intense, visceral live performances, merging relentless heaviness with a ritualistic presence. Over the years, we have played shows across Serbia, Hungary and Bulgaria, including performances alongside established underground acts and appearances at festivals and local extreme-metal gatherings. Most recently, we returned to the stage in 2024–2025, performing at the Exit Festival and Grind Over Sofia Festival, continuing to build momentum and reconnect with the regional slam/death scene.

With new material in development and more shows planned, Lower Parts of Human Sludge enters its next chapter: heavier, more focused, and more conceptually driven than ever before.
